Integrated Care

We aim to reduce the existing divisions between individual sectors in the health service, and in time, do away with them. In this connection, the St Francis Foundation in Münster has entered into numerous funding agreements in the areas of endoprothesis, rheumatology, gynaecology and cardiology. In order to audit the success of the integrated care contract (Project IV) in the field of endo prosthesis (hip and knee replacements), the Institute for Strategic Development, working with the University of Witten/Herdecke, began by submitting the project across the whole of Germany to a scientific investigation, and has now published the results.

In addition, we have extended specialist medical centres in the hospital grounds by setting up independent specialist practises and other services, thereby promoting integration as a concept and in real terms. In Hamm, Uerdingen, Ahlen und Recklinghausen, service centres are currently being built or are in the planning stage. In Bremen, Beckum and Münster this model is already up and running.
